Intervals on the Jankó
Below you find illustrations of the basic intervals that are the basis of music theory and the atomic building blocks for chords and melodies.
Since the Jankó piano is isomorphic, it doesn't matter which note you chose as root note, the intervals will always have the same geometrical shape. To illustrate this, I chose two different root notes, C (red) and C# (green).
Note that you find each note twice, so you can always chose to play on the key two rows above or below, whichever provides the most ergonomic hand position.
Generally, you can follow (and sometimes break) the rule: The lower two rows are reserved for the thumb (and sometimes the pinky) while the upper two rows are for the longer fingers.
